Engagement of the organic value chain to support Organic Breeding in Europe

The overall goal is promoting novel financial concepts and fair value chain partnerships in different regions of Europe for boosting organic breeding growth.

The specific objectives of this initiative are: 

  • Create awareness on European level for the need and added value of organic plant and animal breeding
  • Develop together with value chain actors fair and sustainable models for co-financing of organic breeding in different countries of Europe
  • Lobby for public support for organic plant and animal breeding and improved framework for marketing of organic bred cultivars and animal breeds
  • Promote young organic breeders through networking and mentoring program
